Salim-Suleiman’s ‘Pravas’ in Marathi!

Till today many of Bollywood’s top music composers and singers have made their dazzling entertainment journey in Marathi cinema and have won the hearts of the Marathi audiences. Now a new music composing duo from Bollywood Salim- Suleiman are debuting in Marathi. And we all know how they are popular in Hindi cinema as singers and music composers.And now this hit pair is making their magical debut in Marathi in Shashank Udapurkar’s ‘Pravas‘.

‘Chak De India’, ‘Dostana’, ‘Dhoom-2’, ‘Singh Is King”, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’, ‘Aaja Nachle’, ‘Iqbal’, ‘Hum Tum’ are some of their popular Hindi films and now they will make their magic in Marathi films as well.

Salim Suleiman along with singer Sonu Nigam and lyricist Guru Thakur , the three gems of the music industry have recorded their first song together. Salim Suleiman said that it was a wonderful and different experience for them. And we are honored to entertain the Marathi film audiences with our first film.

The film is produced by Om Changani and is written and directed by Shashank Udapurkar. The DOP is Suresh Deshmane.

Thrilling Trailer Launch Of Najuka’s ‘Maaza Agadbam’!

The thrilling exploits of Najuka in in the forthcoming film ‘Maaza Agadbam’ recently launched its new trailer on the social networking sites . The thrilling sequel to the earlier big hit ‘Agadbam’ is all set to release on October 26. Jayantilal Gada of Pen India Company and Trupti Bhoir Films co-produce the film whose film trailer is creating a buzz among the audiences. A simple, innocent and homely Najuka is a housewife and her loving husband Raybaa’s tale can be witnessed in this trailer. And not only this, wrestlers from WWE and real life Sumos can also be seen in the trailer. And also a hooded Maratha wrestler can also be seen in the trailer. The hooded wrestler whose girth is akin to Najuka can’t be identified in the trailer and its a great source of curiosity among the audiences.

Trupti Bhoir who stars as Najuka in the film and her demeanor really shocks the audiences. And Subodh Bhave as Raaybaa who romances Najuka is also an interesting and entertaining aspect of the film. Trupti Bhoir has not only acted as Najuka but also directed the film. Also in the producers credits are T-Satish Chakravarthy, Dhaval Jayantilal Gada, Akshay Jayantilal Gada, and Trupti Bhoir . Reshma Kadakia, Kushal Kantilal Gada, and Neeraj Gala are the co-producers.

Currently there are varied subjects are being handled in Marathi film industry. An upcoming Marathi movie Ek Hota Paani is going to handle a story of a drought affected village. Every man has to save water instead of waiting for the serious water deficiency. New Talent Search Movies produced movies song recording had been recently completed at Kailas Studio in presence of Director Rohan Satghare, Music director Vikas Joshi and singers Rohit Raut, Hrushikesh Ranade, Anandi Joshi.

Trupti Bhoir’s Weighty Issues in Maaza Agadbam !

Trupti Bhoir is known for her character Najuka ,the fat overweight girl in ‘Agadbamb’ and now the sequel to the film ‘Maaza Agadbamb‘ is up for release. We caught up with Trupti to know about her most eagerly awaited film.

Is the sequel ‘Maaza Agadbamb’ related to the Part one?

No. It is a completely different film and those who have not seen the first edition will completely relate to the film as the scenario in Part 2 is original and not related to the Part 1 and the story is completely different .

Have you used prosthetics this time round too?

Yes. More than the earlier part. Almost 50 kgs more and this time round we used silicon which is much heavier and I had a tough time using the prosthetic make up for which I had to take many a hour to put on the make-up and retain it till late in the night and I couldn’t do the normal toiletries because of the make-up nor could I have eaten anything and it took me more than a hour to remove the make-up. It was a completely strenuous experience. I also had to direct the film which was troublesome because to act and direct was a bit of strenuous job.

What is the rest of the cast like?

I have Subodh Bhave opposite me and he will be seen in a comic role for the first time as he is generally known to be a serious actor and for the first time he is doing comedy and he has done a great job in the film and is the star attraction of the film. His son Kanha will also be seen with him on screen for the first time. Also Usha Nadkarni, the senior actor and Tanaji Galgunde are a part of the film.

What about the music of the film?

We have good music scored by T.Satish Chakravarthy who is also my husband. The songs are released and are catching up with the audiences. Apart from this we have 3 WWE wrestlers from America and Canada and 14 wrestlers from the group of the great Khali.

Where is the film shot?

The film has been shot entirely on Mumbai locales.

Who will be distributing the film?

Jayantilal Gada of PEN International will be distributing the film, a first Marathi film for him.

Is the sequel different from Boyz-1?

Yes. Certainly. The boys featured in the Part 1 were schoolmates and now they have reached college and all their shenanigans and escapades are in college. Parth Bhalerao, Sumant Shinde, and Pratik Lad have all grown up now. It is all about their friendship. There is a gamut of emotions, action sequences, music,etc in the film.

What’s the scenario of the film?

We have focused on the teenagers and college going students, their thoughts, lifestyles, their complexes and the effect of social media on them, the do’s and dont’s for them. There is a message in the film.

Wouldn’t a English title be detrimental for the film?

I don’t think so as BOYZ 1 had clicked in a big way and most of the audiences have identified with the title.

What about the music of the film?

Avdhoot Gupte who has also presented the film has scored many beautiful and foot-tapping songs for the film.

What is the rest of the cast like ?

Sayli Patil, Sharvari Jamenis, Yatin Karyekar, Girish Kulkarni,etc.

Where was the film shot?

Most of the film was shot in the campus of Symbiosis College Lavale.

Are you still playing the character of Boyz-?

Yes. I am still playing the character of Kabir which became really popular. But this time round I have a grown up boy character and have a leading lady opposite me and I have a few romantic songs picturized on me also. One song was shot in the high altitude of Ladakh where we had to survive with oxygen masks as there was a lack of air in the high terrain region. But my character from Boyz of a serious troubled boy is absent in BOYZ-2 as he is a fun loving college boy.

Is your character of Kabir similar to your real self?

I am a very happy go lucky chilled out guy in real self and not all the serious somber guy in Boyz.

How was it like shooting this time round?

It was great to bond with Pratik Lad and Parth Bhalerao and we really had a great time shooting and the director Vishal sir really knew what he wanted from us actors and we have done our best in the film.

What’s happening now with you?

I am doing my Management studies in UK and also doing theater Theater is my first love and I am learning a great deal from my theater stint.

Any inspirations?

Anyone who is doing good work inspires me, be it the smallest actor or the ultimate like Amitabh Bachchan. But generally no one specific as such.

How different was it shooting BOYZ-2 from BOYZ?

The team was the same and it was like a homecoming for all of us. We were all happy to meet one another and the work got over without any hassles.

How was it like shooting for the film?

It was great and just like shooting in a real college campus and we really enjoyed during the shoot.

How was it like shooting the film?

The director Vishal sir made us really comfortable and Sumant Shinde and Parth Bhalerao are good friends of mine, so we enjoyed the shoot.

What do you think is the USP of the film?

The music by Avdhoot Gupte and the writing by Hrishikesh Koli and the theme of the film and of course the direction by Vishal Devrukhkar.

Will you continue acting in films?

Yes. But I will continue with my studies.

Interview For Boyz 2 Marathi Film : Parth Bhalerao Grows up!

You were a child actor and now you are grown up. Your views.

Yes. I am happy to be recognized as a leading man material because many child actors fall by the way when they grow up but I am happy that the film industry is still offering me work and I am satisfied with what I have achieved. My peers and my parents and relatives and friends are all proud of me.

How was the experience of shooting ‘Boyz-2’?

Most of the team was from the first part and we gelled together while shooting for the film including the director Vishal Devrukhkar and my fellow mates Pratik Lad and Sumant Shinde. It has 3 leading men, 3 leading ladies and 2 villains.

What is your character like in BOYZ-2?

It’s similar to BOYZ and is called Dhungyaa who is a village boy who is admitted to a public shool and does his SSC from there and the Part 2 shows them in the 12 Th standard and so that difference has to be shown in the film.

Would you like to continue with your studies?

Yes. I am doing my SYBA but still keen on acting and doing theater as well.
