Review –

The movie explored the teenage love story of a school going boy and a girl. The movie did not make an impact on the box-office as expected but was a beautiful film. Now, Prakash is again ready with a new movie ‘Mithun’ releasing today, 13th July 2018. Vishal Nikam, Amruta Dhongade and senior actor Jaywant Wadkar would be seen in lead roles along with Rohit Awale, Sanjay Khapre and Anil Nagarkar.

Recently, premiere of ‘Mithun’ was planned one day before it’s release at City Pride Multiplex, Kothrud, Pune. Premiere show was houseful and almost all the star cast except Sanjay Khapre, attended the premiere. Director, producers, music directors, background artists were all ready to promote the movie.

We would be seeing new faces in the leads. Vishal Nikam as ‘Mithun’, Amruta Dhongade as ‘Kanchi’ and Rohit Awale as ‘Yuvraj’. Being new to the industry and ‘Mithun’ being their debut film, they have tried hard to give their best performances. We would also be seeing senior actors from Marathi film industry like Jaywant Wadkar (Bappu) as Mithun’s father, Sanjay Khapre (Bhau) as a politician supporting Rohit Awale (Yuraj) and Anil Nagarkar as ‘Inspector Wagh’. Beautiful music by Ajay Jadhav, Digvijay Joshi and background score by Akshay Gurav will keep the audience intact to their seats through out the film.

Movie starts with an introductory song for our hero. Music allows us to tap our feet. Director introduces our heroine. She looks beautiful in Marathi costume playing energetic dhol. Both these actors know each other from their childhood. Have love feeling for each other but unaware and carefree for their feelings. Their friend ‘Deepa’ helps them to realize what they feel for each other. ‘Yuvraj’, surrounded by boasting friends, who tries to make him feel like he is a leader and should build his political career with the help of ‘Bhau’. Complete story revolves round the villages in Satara district. ‘Mithun‘ is a mix of love story, rural personal rivalry within two groups hand-shaked by political support.

As the movie is named ‘Mithun’, story revolves around our hero and the plots in which he is caught. Love story shown in the film doesn’t have much hurdles as you would see but more or less it effects the personal rivalry between Mithun and Yuvraj. Glamorous looks of these fresh three leads creates slight confusion as the complete plot is with a rural background. Cinematography is good. First half of the film is slow depicting love story of Mithun and Kanchi and creation of plot for rivalry with Yuvraj. In the second half of the film, director rushes slightly and tries to wind-up the story with the rivalry within the two and tries to add up some tragic moments. Nearing towards the end of the film, audience would expect some miracles to happen as the director clears the suspense around 10 mins. before the film ends. It would be slightly difficult for the audience to digest the end. End would make the audience feel sad. Movie reminds us of the blockbuster ‘Sairat’ but cannot be compared with it. Few comic moments in the film would make us laugh but then they are very few.

People who love Marathi should go and watch the movie to appreciate and applaud the efforts taken by the all the team members in the journey of converting the concept into a movie and presenting in front of the audience. After the premiere show, all team members were in tears along with the Director Prakash who was explaining the efforts taken by everyone and support given by all in the making this dream come true. Two other Marathi movies are also releasing with ‘Mithun’. Let’s see how this movie can create space in the minds of the audiences with the other two movies.

About Serial –

The serial ‘Grahan‘, currently being played on Zee Marathi will reveal it’s mystery soon, because it has now come to an end. This weekend it will say good bye to all it’s audiences. This slot will be replaced by a new serial ‘Baaji’ with exciting story and is based on Peshwai period.

‘Grahan’ has completed with it’s shooting last month only. It’s last episodes will be showcased this weekend. This slot is going to be booked for a new series ‘ Baaji’ with 100 episodes limitation again. In the second half of Peshwai, Britishers had joined hands with Nijam’s to end Maratha Kingdom. In reference to that time, the fictional story of ‘Baaji’ has been written. At that time a spy named ‘Shera’ was sent to Peshwai and he was given a hundred day term to demolish Peshwai. Serial is based on this plot. “This is the story of the genre of G. N Dandekar’s novels”, said Zee Marathi business head Nilesh Mayekar. Although the plot of the series is historic, the story is completely fictional. Mayekar also said that, “some real happenings of that time have been referenced”.

In the second half of the Peshwai, the British collaborated with the Nizami to end the Maratha rule. In reference to that time, the fictional story of ‘Baji’ has been written. The story of this series was that at that time a spy named ‘Sherra’ was sent to the Peshwai and he was given a hundred-day term to end to Peshwai. This is the story is similar to the style of G. N. Dandekar’s novels, and in this series, along with Abhijit ShwetaChandra, Nupur Daithankar will be seen in the lead roles.

Kshatriya dancer Nupur Dithankar, who has got the heritage of art from childhood and who has a love for art, will now appear in the lead role on small screen. She will play the role of ‘Hira’ in this series of Zee Marathi. The film is shot in Pune, Bhor, Satara and Saswad. This series is mainly based on the latter part of Peshwai. This will show many of the true facts of 1770. These include Biniwale, Kotwal, Katraj’s poison experiment, Godown fire, and theft of the Ganpati necklace. In this, the character of ‘Sherra’ will be played by Prakhar Singh while the character of ‘Baji’ will be played by Abhijit ShwetaChandra. Nupur said, Santosh Kolhe had worked very hard for this series. Nupur said, “This is a fictional story that shows the love story of Baji and Heera. Each character of this series has different combinations. In this I have been shown as heroic, courageous, intelligent and also shown as horse-rider and sword-fighter. This role is very much challenging for me.”

Grandpa and grandson relationship is just awesome. Grandpa has always been a first friend for any child and most often children cherish strong bonds with the friends made early in their life. On the other hand, for an elderly person, grandson is his last friend he can have. Zee Studios and Subhodh Bhave are bringing a story based on relationship of ‘Tatya’ and ‘Vilas’, a granpa-grandson duo, titled- ‘Pusphak Viman’ on 3rd August 2018. This year Zee Studios had brought some awesome content through films such as ‘Yere yere paisa’, ‘Gulabjaam’, ‘Nude’. Now, this time around Subodh Bhave has written a fresh story for a movie which has been directed by Vaibhav Chinchalkar and will be presented by Zee Studios. This movie will provide opportunity for audience to witness actor Mohan Joshi and Subhodh Bhave in same frame for the first time. Also, actor Gauri Kiran will have her debut in marathi film industry. Recently, the trailer of film was launched in a five-star hotel in presence of complete cast, and key executives of Zee Studios which include Sharik Patel and Mangesh Kulkarni.

The movie revolves around a character named Vishnudas Wani aka ‘Tatya’. Tatya lives in Jalgaon and has crossed 83 years of age. He has spent his entire life doing kirtan, bhajan, and farming. Tatya is a truly fond of a tale popularly known a ‘Vaikunth Gaman’ which describes how Saint Tukaram left this material world in pursuit of divine happiness. The man has a grandson who insists him to visit Mumbai and he does so to keep grandson happy. However, after witnessing the situation in the city, he gets quite disappointed and wanted to leave the city. While he is contemplating to leave the city, suddenly an aeroplane flies past him which stuns him completely. For his life, Tatya has told people about Saint Tukaram’s travel by ‘Pushpak’ and the incidence of aeroplane passing changes his life completely. However, this small instance creates ripples in small his innocent world and this all has been aptly depicted in the movie ‘Pusphak Viman’

Manjiri Subhodh Bhave, Arun Joshi, Minal Shripad Indulkar, Sunil Phadtare, and Varsha Patil are producers and Zee Studios will present this movie. Chetan Saidane has penned the dialogues and screenplay while the story has been written by versatile actor Subhodh Bhave. The cinema has been directed by Vaibhav Chinchalkar and editing has accomplished by Ashish Mhatre and Apurva Motiwale Sahay. Mahesh Aane, national awardee, has captured the fast-paced world of Mumbai through his camera. Art direction was in the able hands of Santosh Futane while the background score has been created by Santosh Mulekar.

Amruta is basically from Jakhale, Panhala, Kolhapur. She was born and brought up in Pune. She done her schooling from Renuka Swarup Girls Highschool, Sadashiv Peth, Pune and currently pursuing her bachelors degree from Bharti Vidyapeeth, Pune. She is debuting through Mithun. She was selected through auditions at Pune.

For Mithun movie Amruta is playing a character of girl who loves Mithun from her childhood. During interview she said, “Mithun movie is romantic love story of Mithun and Kanchi and also how Mithun’s life gets affected by social issues is a backbone of the movie”.

Currenlty she is busy with her Zee Marathi’s new serial Mrs. Mukhyamantri.

Vishal is doing debut Marathi Movie Mithun. He was selected through auditions which was held at Pune. Before acting career he was working as a gym trainer at Kandivali (West), Mumbai. Also he has done modelling and magazine shoot for Gold Gym, India.
