TV serial Freshers, which airs on Zee Yuva, has successfully touched the milestone of airing of 100 episodes and the team celebrated its achievement by cutting cake and partying on the sets.Started in August 2016, over the course of the past few months, the show has become a favorite among viewers.

Freshers is the story of seven youngsters who just stepped in the collage for graduation. Marathi actor-director ‘Subodh Bhave’ and his son ‘Malhar’ will be sharing screen time for the first time in Fugay. You may have seen many father-son pairs acting in Marathi films before this but Fugay will be the first time that a real-life son will be playing his father’s childhood character.

Fugay, as the name suggests, is a story of two friends — giving company to Bhave will be Swwapnil Joshi, another popular star — who have created a ruckus among their families because of their friendship.

Interestingly, Vihaan Nishandar, who plays Swapnil’s childhood character is the son of Kartik Nishandar, incidentally also Fugay’s co-producer along with Arjun of GSEAMS.

Those who have seen the film’s rushes vouch for the stunning chemistry not only between Subodh Bhave and Swapnil Joshi but also of ‘Malhar Bhave’ and ‘Vihaan Nishandar’.

Fugay, which can be dubbed as the backstory of budding friendship, is directed by Swapna Waghmare Joshi.

The film has been produced by STV Networks along with GSEAMS Kartik Nishandar-Arjun Barhan along with Ashwin Anchan and Anuradha Joshi while Inder Raj Kapoor is the film’s presenter.

Both perfectionists to the see when it comes to their trade, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan and Marathi film industry’s most bankable director in recent times came together to shoot a video with a social message. Directed by Manjule for the Paani Foundation, the five minute clip, that has already gone viral on the Internet, has the entire Sairat team — Nagraj Manjule, Aakash Thosar, Rinku Rajguru, co-actors, music director duo Ajay-Atul (Gogavale) — along with Sai Tamhankar, Sunil Barve, standing shoulder to shoulder with the King Khan, as they take shovels in their hands and dig trenches for water conservation and watershed management in Maharashtra’s arid landscape.

The music for the Paani Foundation video is composed by the duo and the song ‘Toofan Aala’ is sung by Kiran Rao and Ajay Gogavale.

Ajay Thakur has penned the lyrics that bring to you the hardships faced by the drought-affected farmers and their families of Maharashtra.

Interestingly, the video was launched on January 3, 2017 in Mumbai as part of Satyamev Jayate Water Cup’s second edition in the presence of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.

The first edition of Satyamev Jayate Water Cup contest succeeded in creating 1,386 crore litre of water storage capacity in Maharashtra in early 2006.

To encourage villages across Maharashtra’s dry landscape Paani Foundation organizes a contest where they offer Rs 50 lakh, Rs 30 lakh and Rs 20 lakh as first, second and third prize respectively to the village that creates the maximum water storage capacity.

This year the competition period is between April 8 and May 22, a month before the onset of monsoons so that the Maharashtra adds more water in drought-affected areas. The last date for submitting applications for this contest in the designated talukas is January 31, 2017.
