With a fresh new plot, new characters, new setting, and new names, six friends — Amey Wagh, Pushkraj Chirputkar, Suvrat Joshi, Pooja Thombre, Sakhi Gokhale and Swanandi Tikekar — are coming soon once again to embrace you, entangle you and entrap you, with their friendship, that made you laugh at times, and cry at times.

Zee Marathi and Zee Marathi HD will be airing the second season of one of the most popular tele-serial that had the youth of Maharashtra laugh and cry with Ashu, Sujay, Kaivalya, Meenal, Reshma and Ana, every time these friends came on the Idiot Box.

In the second season, though, these wonderful actors will be donning new names and new avatars and in all together exciting setting.

For Dil Dosti Dobara Season 2, these characters will be known as Sahil, Gaurav, Mukta, Papya, Anandi and Pari but to know who will be playing which character you will have to wait some more.

Interestingly, instead of these characters having met each other as paying guests in a common house, where they made their lives miserable for you, their neighbours and themselves, this time around you will find these six friends do the same act at a restaurant, hilariously named, ‘Khayali Pulav Restaurant’.

We know you must already be curious to know how these six cross each other’s way and how they end up knotting themselves up, round and round, at the Khayali Pulav Restaurant.

Based on the rocking funda ‘Masti Nay tar Dosti Nay’ (There is no friendship without some mischief and fun), these is characters are all set to bring the house down with their fresh antics at the restaurant, the flushes for which aired on Zee Marathi, have already become quite some rage.

Equally interestingly, the story will delve for quite some time around their childhoods giving you the sense as to how and when these six friends meet each other, and forge a strong friendship that ultimately makes them open a business.

Watch out for the fun and drama as these six novices, with no prior experience of running a restaurant run helter-skelter as they fight with each other while managing the restaurant and dishing out some mean recipes, some of which hit the bulls eye while others misfire.

Talking about the creative credits, Santosh Kanekar’s Atharva Theatre and Arts is producing Dil Dosti Dobara Season 2 and the project is helmed by Advait Dadarkar and Swapnil Murkar.

Story and dialogues are written by Sudeep Modak and Abhishek Khankar respectively.

Decorated with music director Sameer Saptiskar, the serial’s title song too will be quite refreshing according to the people in the know.

While the Dil Dosti Dobara Season 2 debuts February 18 on Zee Marathi and Ze Marathi HD, the narrative will actually take you on during an hour-long special show on Sunday February 19 at 1 pm followed by its repeat telecast at 6 pm.

In 21st century is a woman being sterile still considered as a social stigma? Maybe…, but then would there be soo many flourishing fertility centres in towns? Women are born with nature’s gift to reproduce and produce offsprings. It’s one of the best phenomenon in one’s life. But does failure to fulfill this make her less of a human? Why is it that she’s demeaned and disrespected in the society and family?
Under such circumstances and pressure from the society she (Shalini – Bhave) has given birth to her child Mohit.
Her entire life started revolving around Mohit. Feeding him and watching him grow… apart from this she has forgotten everything going on around her. She’s soo involved in motherhood that she has forgotten about her better half ( Sadabhau- Mahesh Manjrekar )
… And one fine day the dreaded happens ; Mohit turns into a spoilt brat due to her over pampering him. He falls prey of bad company. And he looses his life in a fight with his dad… This journey of Shalu , Sadanand and Mohit is heartbreaking. After their sons death Shalu and Sadanand Pathak come together as they were before his birth.
The incident that happened is an emotional trauma in Shalu’s life.
Due to society’s pressure on having kids ; what the female battles through has been portrayed by Chandrakant Kulkarni in Dhyanimani.
Till the interval the movie is well balanced and runs smoothly with Mohit’s existence and their life around him. But after the interval his death gives the movie a sudden twist. Due to which a tension is seen in their lifestyle. The fact that Sadabhau accidentally murdered his son and Shalu’s involvement in raising him.. just gets a bit too twisty and leaves the audience wondering why is everything falling apart soo soon? Shalu starts behaving like a psycho and she starts seeing him in everything.

Three out of four major characters deliver a good performance in the roles of Samir, Aparna and Sada. Although Aparna has a relatively smaller role that disappears after the first half, Mrunmayee Deshpande gives a memorable performance. Unfortunately, the central role of Shalu ( Ashvini Bhave) seems a bit off.

Everything goes soo fast that the movie derails and fails to put forward the central idea clearly. But in the end it’s a wonder how it manages to deliver an unexpected ending. Considering the rest of the film, it’s a good achievement.

Positive Points –

Strong acting performance by every involved actors.
Proper comment on social psychology.

Negative Points –

Failed to manage the time based placement of the movie from directorial end.
Wrong message about the Medical science, as blockage of Fallopian tube can be easily removed in these days.
Only one song.

Overall this movie shows the phases of motherhood and the atrocities that a mother undergoes after loosing a kid. It has this meandering theme running throughout the film projected in different ways. Sometimes it is too complicated and twisted for the audience to understand.. but this movie does enough justice to the previous theatrical release.

This ‘Raja’ Will Regale You With its Music

In recent times, Marathi cinema is undergoing a sea change in the way a film’s music is composed. Not just the youth but the modern-day cinema and the music that accompanies it is being enjoyed by the traditionalists, too.

Keeping in mind this budding trend, ‘Raja’ a film with music at its heart is soon coming up to regale the lovers of Marathi cinema.

Satya Sai Multi Media Pvt Ltd, a film-production house, owned by producer Pravin Kakad will be producing this musical extravaganza. Naresh Sakhare is the film’s co-producer.

Directed by Shashikant Deshpande, Raja the musical’s songs were recorded recently by popular Bollywood singers Shan and Sukhwinder Singh.

The story and screenplay of the musical film Raja, based on the life of a pop singer, is written by director Shashikant Deshpande, while dialogues are penned by Milind Inamdar and Deshpande himself.

While the lyrics are written by Valay Mulgund, the film’s music is composed by Pankaj Padghan.

Saurdeep Kumar, Swarda Joshi, Nishita Purandare, Sharad Ponkshe, Jaywant Wadkar, Surekha Kudchi, Vineet Bonde, and Paurus Deshpande are some of the famous actors in the film.

Damodar Naidu is helming the cameraman’s role for Raja, production management is by Poonam Ghorpade and Raaja’s executive producer is Satyawan Gawde.

Costumes by Pournima Oak, costumes by Sharad Sawant and choreography by Santosh Bhangare are some of the other creditworthy names adding their creativity.

Raja’s shooting will commence from March 2017.

Around Valentine’s Day a lot of romantic films get released. One such love story is in the offing in the form of Premay Namah! As the name suggests, though it’s a love story, it’s treatment in all the departments viz. story, direction, music, locations etc., is different than run of the mills love stories. In the history of Marathi Film industry the makers of the film have shot a romantic song Underwater. The said song’s lyrics ‘Zalo Bebhaan Mi’ are penned by Chandrashekhar Janawade and is composed by K. Sandipkumar-Chandrashekhar. Singers Shahzad and Pamela Jain have lent their sweet voice. All these composer-lyricist-singers combinations have resulted into a lilting romantic number which definitely will rock music charts. The music launch was done on the 6th of February 2017 at the hands of, marathi filmdom’s ‘Baaji‘ and hindi film industry’s ‘Iqbal’, Shreyas Talpade and in the midst of entire cast and crew of Premay Namah and many celebrities from marathi film industry. Speaking on the occasion Shreyasji said ‘Marathi films have always been rich in content and performances. It’s heartening to witness marathi films’ progress in technical areas too. I’m highly impressed with Premay Namah’s Underwater song and wish the entire team great success’
There’s another speciality connected to the film. Bollywood invariably launches a game of movie titles of big stars (e.g. Shahrukh Khan-Fan, Don, Hrithik Roshan-Krishh, Salman Khan-Sultan, Aamir Khan-Dangal, Rajnikant-Kabali etc.). Likewise and without lagging behind this marathi film producer Uttam Chorade has got developed a game in the film’s name and ‘Premay Namah App’ got launched alongside film’s music which surely will be lapped up by the young filmgoers.

Underwater filming is a tough job. But the film’s team have put in no-stones-unturned efforts while filming this first-of-it’s-kind-in-Marathi-film song. Premay Namah’s romantic lead pair Devendra Choughule and Rupali Krishnarao have put in great efforts for this song. Other crew members were underwater wearing oxygen masks but they did not have that liberty or privilege. They practised, under the guidance of experienced swimming instructors, about holding breath underwater for longer duration. They used special breathing techniques while shooting underwater song keeping in mind about the camera angles, romantic expressions, beats and lyrics of the song, director’s instructions etc.. They were lauded by the whole team for the daring and professionalism they showed while completing the under-the-sea shoot, without any frowns while meticulously following choreographer’s and director’s instructions, of this novel underwater song.
‘Zalo Bebhaan Mi’ song has turned out more beautiful because of the excellent camera-work by DOP Dhanaji Yamkar. Producer Uttam Chorade has used high quality VFX in post production so as to give viewers a treat in the form of underwater-romance which is filmed at locations in Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad and picturesque sea at Malvan in Maharashtra.
Premay Namah is produced by Uttam Chorade whereas it’s been presented by Vijay Shinde and Mahesh Joke and is directed by Jagdish Watharkar and music composers being K Sandipkumar-Chadrashekhar Janawade. The film’s cast comprises of Devendra Choughule, Rupali Krishnarao, Prachi lalage, Surekha Kudchi, Prakash Dhotre, Bharat Daini, Gauri Magdum and Snehalraj.

The show which was shot in a studio in Mumbai has successfully travelled to various villages in Maharashtra and has won the hearts of people with their humour and outright will to spread happiness. The movie “Baghtos Kay, Mujra Kar” casts Jitendra Joshi as Nanasaheb Deshmukh, Aniket Vishwasrao as Panduranga Shinde, Akshay Tanksale as Shivraj Vahadne in the lead. They have worked exceptionally well and would inspire the viewers. The director ; Hemant Dhome as Shamsher Patil has played the role of a classic villein. Co stars Parna Pethe , Rasika Sunil, Neha Joshi, Ashwini Kalsekar and Vikram Gokhale have performed well too.

This movie deserves a Three Stars

“Baghtos Kay, Mujra kar” is yet another beautiful movie that leaves us pondering upon the great deeds of Shivaji Maharaj.

Maharashtra’s prosperity is due to Shivaji Maharaj. His stories teach and encourage the people of all age groups to have courage and fight. The new generation is fascinated by his bravery. We get goosebumps when we visit the forts that he has built. Unfortunately, today the state of the forts is pitysome. His name and creations are being misused to make money. To create an awareness among the youth and to awaken them about the importance of the situation this new movie “Baghtos Kay,Majra Kar” has been released today. This movie projects the difference between the respect in a civilians heart for Maharaj and the scandalous minds of corrupt political leaders. They have shown the current state of the forts in Maharashtra and compared it with the way the Britishers have preserved their armour and artifacts from the historic era. The people who spit where the mavla’s have shed their blood should be ashamed of themselves…even if we were to protect and preserve a few percent of his weapons and forts maybe we would have a longer list of the wonders of the world…

A part of the movie has been shot in London which proves that now Marathi cinema has also crossed the seven oceans and has reached new heights.

Instead of wasting money in building a memorial for Maharaj only if we could spend the same cash and utilize it to preserve something that he has built. This movie focuses on this central idea of creating an awareness to preserve real historically valued places such as Maharaj’s forts. The movie has highlights and a few lows.. but overall it is worth a watch.

In the end I would just say, yes, please do watch this movie and I hope that the message reaches the hearts of the audience as well as the politicians.

We need a co-ordinated action to preserve our great historical monuments, forts, killes. So this movie will motivate you to do so. Don’t waste time and book your tickets now.
