Choreographer Ganesh Acharya’s New role: Film Director
Choreographer Ganesh Acharya’s first inning in Marathi film direction began with a huge bang.
Acharya’s forthcoming ‘Swami Tinhi Jagacha: Bhikari‘ was launched in the presence of Bollywood’s Badshah ‘Amitabh Bachchan’ and handsome hunk ‘Tiger Shroff’.
While Acharya, popular for his penchant to dance to his own choreography, has been the helmsman for Hindi films like ‘Swami’ (2007), ‘Money Hai Toh Honey Hai’ (2008) and ‘Angel’ (2011), ‘Swami Tinhi Jagacha: Bhikari‘ will be his first attempt to direct a Marathi film.
Like the launch of the film, the star cast too is power packed and include stalwarts like Swwapnil Joshi, Rucha Inamdar, Guru Thakur, Sayaji Shinde, Milind Shinde, Keeri Adarkar, Sunil Pal and Pradeep Kabra.
“Marathi films have made a mark for themselves in the last few years. Top class talent and commercial success have been the hallmark of Marathi films for some time now. Looking at such blossoming of talent and the way these films have been loved by the audiences, I too wanted to direct a Marathi film. My wish is being fulfilled with ‘Swami Tinhi Jagacha: Bhikari’,” Acharya said at the launch of the film.
The film will be produced by Me Maratha, the production house launched by Ganesh Acharya and Sharad Devram Shelar.
The director expressed hope that people will love his directorial debut.
