The name Ravi Jadhav in marathi cinema is always attached to quality films which despite being huge commercial success dot compromise on their content an quality. And the maverick Marathi director who has an enviable record at the box office has now attached his name to the upcoming film Yuntum.
Yuntum is directed by Sameer Asha Patil who made people stand up and take notice of his first film Chaurya that released earlier this year . The young lad surely seems to have bagfuls of talent as it is no mean achievement to get your only second film presents by someone as reputed as Ravi Jadhav. Yuntum, written and directed by Sameer, is a teenage love story which goes much deeper than what you expect from such films. Sameer has said that music would be the soul of the film. Talking about the film Ravi Jadhav said, ‘This year, I acted in Kaccha Limbu and directed a film like Nude which were two very diverse films. In 2018, I would be presenting films about the dreams of simple, earnest people on one hand and films about extraordinary feats which can serve as an inspiration to many. Yuntum is the first step in that direction. ‘Yuntum’ essentially stands for insanity. It’s a beautiful love story about a young couple from rural Maharashtra. Despite being set in the harsh reality of rural India, it is also about the extent to which one can go for the sake of love. I have presented films of directors like Abhijit Panse and Prakash Kunte before and I can say without any doubt that even Sameer Asha Patil is a director of the same caliber. Also, with this film I an getting to work with a veteran like Sayaji Shinde and a host of debutantes. I hope that I can play a small role in helping this lovely film reaching its target audience.
Director Sameer also expressed his great fortune of getting Ravi Jadhav to present Yuntum and promised that the that the audience will get to see something fresh in his love story.
