The teaser of the Biopic based on the life of Shiv Sena party founder Balasaheb Thackeray was launched recently. The teaser is launched in presence of Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who had played a role inspired on Balasaheb Thackeray in ‘Sarkar’and Shiv Sena President UddhavThackeray. The film will be produced in Hindi language.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be seen in lead role of Balasaheb Thackeray. Thought on the names of Akshay Kumar and Irfan Khan wasgiven for the lead role. Biopic will be titled as Thackeray.
In 2015, Smita Thackeray had announced to make a biopic based on the life of Balasaheb. Her son and Balasaheb’s grandson Rahul Thackeray has given the responsibility direction of the film.
Present Rajasabha MP and Shiv Sena’s senior leader Sanjay Raut will be the Producer while Abhijit Panse will be the Director of the biopic. The script of the biopic is written by Sanjay Raut himself. The movie will take about four years to complete.
While talking about the biopic, Sanjay Raut said, “I have spent most of my time with Balasaheb. I knew Balasaheb very well. There are many things in His (Balasaheb) life which can be shown on big screen. He was people’s leader. The biopic will be a hit in mainstream category, I think so.”
