The volume of Marathi films has increased over the years and many non-Maharashtrians are entering in the arena of Marathi films. Now a new name has been added to this growing list of filmmakers and that id young South actor Kartik Shetty who is known for his South films like ‘Yuvaa’, ‘Agnimrushti’ and a Kannada film to be released titled ‘Akshate’ . Kartik has left his mark as an actor but with ‘Than Than Gopal’ he is all set to prove his directorial abilities , a film produced under the banner of ‘Om Ganesh ProductIons’ . Born in Mumbai, Karik is a product of Digital Film Academy and has acted in Hindi, Kannada. plays. Waiting for the shooting of his Kannada film ‘Akshate’ shoot he in the interim narrated his story idea to his close colleagues and they liked it for its emotional content as South films are basically action packed entertainers or potboilers so Kartik decided to make this film in Marathi as he was proficient in the technique of film making .
The film revolves around a vision challenged but determined eleven year old boy who befriends a Warli painter and how his life changes after this is the screenplay of the film.
The film has a story by Kartik Shetty along with a screenplay by Rahul Pote, Shrinivas Shinde and Kartik Shetty and dialogues by Vaibhav Parab. Starring by Milind Gunaji, Milind Gavali Child Actor Vivek Chabukswar and German actress
Suzanne Bernert. debutant music director Amit Shetye has composed two songs penned by Aditi Jahagirdar sung by Udit Narayan and Shankar Mahadevan and DOP is Manjunath Nayak.
The film is soon to be released all over Maharashtra.
