Bollywood should learn something from Marathi films, says John Abraham

The various experiments and stories being taken up in the Marathi film industry have drawn a lot of Bollywood personalities to it in the recent past. Jumping on the bandwagon is John Abraham, who is known to back films that are high on content.

After Vidya Balan, Priyanka Chopra and other Bollywood biggies having associated with Marathi films, It’s John’s turn to do the same. During the trailer of launch of the upcoming Marathi film ‘Fugay’, John made a very important announcement. John said, “I am going to produce a Marathi film very soon.” The handsome hunk also went on to praise Marathi films and said that the Hindi industry has a lot to learn from the Marathi industry. “Currently, Marathi cinema is better than any of its counterparts and is at a place where it hasn’t yet been corrupted. Every business suffers from this aspect but it is important to maintain a balance between things,” said John.

John also went on to congratulate the team of Fugay and wished them all the success. Presented by STV Networks’ Inder Raj Kapoor, produced by Ashwin Anchan and co-produced by MAAY Productions’ Anuradha Joshi and GSEAMS’ Arjun Barhan and Kartik Nishandar, Fugay is touted to be a complete family entertainer. The film features Swwapnil Joshi and Subodh Bhave in never-before-seen avatars and their chemistry has become the talk of the town. John feels that the film will do good business owing to its subject and strong team. “The director of Fugay, Swapna Waghmare Joshi, is a good friend of mine. I am producing a Marathi film which she will helm. Apart from the Marathi industry, Bollywood also needs to learn from Malayalam films. Marathi films are strong on content and experiments happen regularly here. The Hindi industry should follow suit,” added John.
